Wedding Day Tips for the Bride

Today I am sharing with brides-to-be great tips for their wedding day hairstyle.

h3. Get your Hair Professionally Done:

* You will want to make sure your hair looks great and stays that way for hours. It will also help to have one less thing to do or stress about on your wedding day. Leave it up to a professional and relax in a seat for a while—you won’t be able to just sit and relax again for hours!

  • Don’t delay in finding a good hairstylist! Ask friends/coworkers who had their hair done for their wedding who they recommend. When contacting potential hairstylists find out if they regularly work with brides and bridal parties. A hairstylist may do an amazing job on haircuts, perms, and coloring, but not up-dos -so choose wisely. When meeting with a potential stylist, show them pictures of styles you are considering and ask if they can do them with your hair and how much they’ll charge. If you are unsure about how to do your hair, ask them for their opinion. A talented hair stylist can look at your face and make great suggestions.
  • Request a practice run with your hairstylist a week or two before the wedding. You might have to pay extra for this, but it is worth it! Bring in a picture or two of what you want your hair to look like and go over the pictures. Bring your veil, tiara or any other piece you plan on using. If you are worried about brining them take a few good pictures of them showing how they are secured to your hair. This way your stylist can plan and help you choose which styles will work best for your face and your veil and tiara, etc. If you are dying your hair, getting highlights, etc. and are using the same stylist this is a great time to do your practice run.
  • Once you have a practice run with your stylist, ask how long it should take on the day of the wedding. Add at least 15 minutes on to the time they give you. You never know what can cause delays and you don’t want to have your hair stylist rushed!

    * Don’t forget your wedding dress! Some wedding dresses (in part or in whole) are put on over the head. I know this sounds like something that would never happen, but believe me, it has: an elegant hairstyle ruined while putting on the wedding dress.

    Hi Rhiannon,
I loved the cosmetics pictures. You did a great job! I see what you were talking about regarding the hair. Just call me next time. I love to do this type of thing.
I enjoyed the tips on getting your hair done for weddings. You were right on the money (no pun intended.)
I got a chance to look at the wedding pix too, and wow you guys do great work-well done!
Will Oct. be your first show? It will be my 2nd, and I think I need to be more pushy, so I am going to see Kyle Mon. or Tues for advice.
Good luck with the baby girl if I do not see you before.
    Carleen
